Monitoring of my photovoltaic installation
Last year I decided to install a photovoltaic generator. Since the installation is not on my own roof I also need monitoring and went for a do-it-yourself monitoring solution.
The software side of the monitoring solution consists of two components: a data logger and a server. The data logger is based on the solar-logger project and I still hope that my branch is going to be integrated into the project. The server is a Ruby application which I decided to publish as a separate project, called plantwatchdog. I opted for that name because the application is rather generic and could also be employed for other installations, for example heaters.
One of the features of plantwatchdog is a graph which can be included in any webpage. You see a small instance below, there is also a dedicated page which gives some explanations on the measurements.
